International Law creates structure and regulates international
relations. It provides architecture and sets the rules of the games for
international relations to ensure both cooperation and competition among
states. It enables negotiations between countries with different interests, provide
mechanisms to settle disputes by peaceful means and is used to regulate
international organizations, such as the United Nations and the European Union.
International law also regulates land boundary and maritime zones between
nations.
